The Blackbaud Giving Fund was established to encourage generosity from workplace giving programs and individuals looking to support causes that are meaningful to them. In 2020, the Fund’s first year, The Blackbaud Giving Fund disbursed $258 million to nonprofits, $630 million in its second year, and $682 million in 2022. These lifetime disbursements, totaling over $1.6 billion, make The Blackbaud Giving Fund among the top 10 largest donor-advised fund sponsors in the U.S. 

The Fund simplifies the giving experience for workplace giving, peer-to-peer fundraising, and nonprofits in four ways: 

  1. Swift disbursements. When an individual or company makes a donation to a nonprofit using our partners, YourCause or JustGiving, The Blackbaud Giving Fund quickly disburses the entire donation amount directly to the nonprofit the donor selected.
  2. Secure transfers. Safety is of the utmost importance to The Blackbaud Giving Fund. The Fund takes great care and prioritizes safe disbursements with safety measures in place to help protect each transfer, donor, and nonprofit from potential security threats.
  3. Free Nonprofit Resources. The Blackbaud Giving Fund wants to support nonprofits as they work to spark change and support their communities. With the free NPOconnect platform, nonprofits can access resources that help them further their reach to millions of potential donors and support their fundraising and engagement efforts. Nonprofits can enroll in ACH payments to receive donations faster than waiting for a check in the mail, build out a profile to appeal to current and potential donors, evaluate donor and volunteer data, and more. With access to this valuable data, nonprofits can elevate their mission and refine communication strategies with current and potential donors to increase support for their cause.
  4. Expand Reach to Donors. Donors can search through our database of over 1.5 million vetted nonprofits in good standing with the IRS or local government legislation. If a donor chooses to support a nonprofit not listed in our database, they can request the charity be vetted.
